Use as needed for comfort, and we recommended to condition your breasts before baby, by applying every few days in the later weeks, preparing your skin for breastfeeding. Pack in the hospital bag!
During Breastfeeding: Apply a small amount to nipples after feeding as both a treatment for sore/damaged nipples, and as a preventative for cracking and infection.
If desired, wipe with a damp cloth or wet wipe before next feed.
Store both products in a cool dry place. Test patch first.
Can I use Boob Balm while pregnant?
Yes! And some women need it for breast discomfort during pregnancy. All our products are very mild and considered safe throughout pregnancy, but if you are at all concerned, we recommend consulting your GP/health care professional when pregnant, as everyone and every pregnancy journey is different.
My doctor says not to give my child honey. Does Boob Balm have honey in it?
No. There is no honey in any of our products. While we do use Manuka oil, which many people associate with Manuka honey, the oil we use has been harvested direct from the Manuka tree. Manuka honey is made from bees that take the pollen from the Manuka tea tree. We go straight to the source, no bees required. And yes, Manuka Oil is AMAZING and 1000 times stronger than the honey, with so many incredible health and healing qualities.
Is Boob Balm safe for my baby?
Yes. All ingredients in Boob Balm are 100% natural, non-toxic, and already widely used amongst the skincare industry. If you'd prefer to be cautious, you can wipe your breast with a moist towel or baby wipe before feeding your baby, and, like all skin products, it is always best to test patch first.
Is Boob Balm vegan and fragrance free?
Yes it's vegan! All the ingredients in Boob Balm are 100% natural and not from animals or animal derived products. But while we don’t add any fragrances to our products, that doesn’t mean our balms don’t have any scent at all. We can’t remove the smells that naturally occur from our ingredients, but luckily enough, all our ingredients smell great together! You can tell, just from a whiff of our products, that they’re jam-packed full of essential oils. And being natural, the scent is fast dissipating, as opposed to synthetic scents that are designed to last.
Why do my nipples hurt?
There are many reasons why breastfeeding can be painful and challanging. So we have a whole FAQ section on it here
What if my Boob Balm melts?
As it is a balm, there is a melting point for our products. This is great for easy application, but please don't worry if it does melt from time to time. We do recommend keeping below 30 degrees and out of direct sunlight, but the effectiveness of the product won't be harmed if it does melt. Simply give the product a stir and allow to cool again. Slight consistencies might change if the balm cools too slowly, but it will continue to perform just as good as ever.
Why is my belly so itchy?
Because that skin is stretching big time! Your skin might not look like it's cracking, but with it forced to expand so rapidly, tiny cracks in the skin will make your bump feel itchy as anything.
That's why keeping that skin intensely moisturised is so important. Lather up!
How can Belly Oil prevent stretch marks?
There is no 100% guarantee for preventing stretch marks, no matter what other brands might claim. It all depends on how big your belly gets and how your skin reacts to that growth. But there's certainly a lot you can do get your skin as stretchy and prepped as ever!
We use intensely moisturising essential oils to prevent cracking, and incredible ingredients, like Tamanu Oil, which help create collagen. This will help knit skin back together prevent scarring.
When is it best to apply Belly OIl?
After a shower! When that softened, damp skin is ready to soak up anything. Use after a shower, once a day for sure, but twice is even better.
Will the oil stain my clothes?
You'll find our Belly Oil absorbs into your skin super fast. It's a 'dry' oil too, so won't leave you feeling slick and gross, and you can pop your clothes on immediately after.
With particularly delicate fabrics, like silk, perhaps err on the side of caution and give that oil a bit more time to soak in.
